GIVEAWAY - Videohance Does More Than Just Apply Filters

I've had to keep this secret under wraps for a little while as I was given a sneak peak to look at Videohance before it was released. Videohance comes from the same great folks at Oringe Photo who developed Word Swag and Climate Clock.

With Videohance you can edit your existing videos or record a new one from the app. When you open the app, first select a size - 1x1 (Instagram fans will want to use this one) or 16x9 which looks best on YouTube, Facebook.

Once you have your video imported or newly recorded, you can then edit the color by choosing from any of the included 41 Presets. If you don't find a style that suits your mood, you can also adjust saturation, brightness, exposure, contrast, hue, white balance, highlights and shadows.

Next on to the Overlay section which includes 12 Light Leaks (plus 6 optional to purchase), 9 Stylized Overlays, 8 Grit and Grain Overlays (plus 5 optional to purchase), 3 Blur Overlays, 16 Gradient Overlays and 4 Vignettes. You can vary the opacity for as subtle or intense an effect as you prefer.

But wait, there's more! Add a Frame - select from 27 styles and 43 colors. Whew! That's a lot of choices.

Happy with the way it looks? Next add Audio by selecting from the music on your device. You can get even more creative by splicing the video and inserting images or just combine a series of images. Save your video or upload directly to Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, YouTube, Tumblr. There's also an option to send in text or email your video.

I had an existing stop-motion video that I created recently. I love the way I was able to spruce it up using Videohance!

UPDATE from developer regarding resolution: Right now the app only supports up to 640 pixels wide, but our biggest priority right now is upping that to at least 1280x720 output, and 1920x1080 if possible.

Videohance is currently for sale on The App Store for $2.99 but you can win one of three promo codes by leaving a comment below. Winners will be chosen by random draw on Saturday, May 10th at 9 AM PDT. Good Luck!

UPDATE: Congrats to the winners:

  9. Greetings Geri, I just discovered VideoHance simply when someone remarked about it on FaceBook this evening, in conjunction with todays release of Cinamatic from Hipstamatic. I would love to work with ViceoHance, as I am exploring video as an artistic expression, so please add my name.

  14. Hi Egmont - Yes I think this is way better than Cinamatic even though I haven't downloaded the one from Hipsta. There is a lot more that you can do to edit the video and like you said you can splice in stills in the video as well. Good Luck with the drawing.

  18. I was given an advance copy of Cinamatic and I am very sorry to say that it is limited to 640 for Instagram and way over priced. The 5 filters that come with the initial program are fine but then to charge $14 to get the rest of the filters is way to costly for a program that overs no editing features, or being able to recall an edited 15 second video to re-edite.
Hipstamatic had an opportunity to make a great program, but keeping the 'Toy photography' philosophy was a mistake.
I heard back from Mario as to my initial comments on FaceBook and he was disappointed I did not talk to him first before suggesting people save their money.
It is clear that CInamatic is geared for the teenager generation whose attention span is 15 seconds. I guess Andy Warhol's words of 15 seconds of fame is the motto of an entire generation.
Over the weekend I am posting numerous links about videos to my FaceBook page The iPhone Arts, including free video app.

  19. I didn't mention Cinamatic by name, but that's what I was referring to in the title when I said Videohance does more than just apply filters. Yes, it looks like Andy Warhol's 15 minutes has been reduced to only 15 seconds in a generation that has a very short attention span =) I am not on Facebook so I'll miss your links. I just don't think I can cram any more into my day.
